1000m: Situated in a chute off the course proper, providing a straight run to the only turn, inside barriers have a slight advantage.
1100m: Similar to the 1000m start, but with an extra 100m to the first turn. Fair start.
1300m: Located on the course proper, providing a straight run of 500m to the first corner. Inside barriers have a slight advantage.
1400m: Starts on the course proper in the back section. There is a straight run of 600m to the first bend, fair start.
1550m: Located in a chute off the course proper at the end of the back straight. There is 750m of straight turf until the first corner, providing a very fair start.
1800m: Situated on the course proper on the turn out of the straight. Runners are on a curve until they reach the 1550m and the back stretch. Inside barriers have a slight advantage.
2400m: This barrier is situated on the course proper in the home straight. Barriers are of little consequence due to the distance involved.
